Review: Battle of the Booties

Likes: I love the silhouette of this bootie. The dip in the front definitely helps in not cutting off your legs. The quality is really nice and I think if it fit snug like it should, it would look amazing with bare legs and with tights.
Dislikes: Unfortunately size 5.5 is gigantic. My entire foot slips out when I take a step.  I can’t wear socks because the dip in the front will show it. Price is a quite steep.
Verdict: Return but would recommend (if you don’t mind the price) for someone with size 5.5 and up.

Cole Haan Talia Bootie – size 5 (on sale and in brown)

Likes: The fit is perfect with no slippage or gap in the back. From what I could tell by walking around in my house, it’s super comfortable. Quality is amazing and heel height is very nice. I can definitely wear to work with tights and make it look professional.

Dislikes: I wish it was more of a bootie silhouette but the more I look at it, I’m starting to love it.  Price is decent for Cole Haan’s but still a bit expensive.

Verdict: Possibly keeping.
Nine West Azzurro Bootie in chocolate- size 5 (on sale)
Likes: I love the rich brown color and the size 5’s fit fairly nice. Price is decent for booties. The almond toe and heel height is what I was hoping for.

Dislikes: The ankle area is very roomy and the leather is pleather-y even though it’s genuine leather. There’s something else but I just can’t put my finger on it. The shaft and silhouette is a no go for me.

Verdict: Return

Dear Readers…

  1. The Adena booties are gorgeous…I so want a pair now! The Cole Haans are beautiful as well…I say keep!

  2. Hmm… this is a tough one. I love, love how the MKs look on you! It looks so much nicer than stock photos. Would heel grips help with the looseness? If so, I'd say keep that one. Now you're making me want to try on a pair to compare against the AV Adams that I recently bought.

I'm not much of a fan of the Cole Haans (the front cut takes a little getting used to). If you love it though, I say keep!

  3. My faves are the Cole Haan ones. Where did you get them? I only see brown from your link! Would you say they're TTS?

  4. the cole haan's one is definitely u should keep it .no doubt the michael kors one has v pretty cut in front but it dosent fit on u the cut is so big that its showing the side gap and the cole hen one is looking so perfect in all i hunk u should go for it

  5. Ohh!! Keep the Cole Haan ones!! So cute!! The only drawback I see is that the sole is not a darker color…if I wanted to be really knit-picky!

    Thanks for all the reviews!!

  6. Hi Kelly! I ordered them they piperlime.com- just checked and omg so many sizes are gone! Try Zappos.com or I believe Macy's carries them.

Do u want mine before I return them? I'm shipping back tomorrow. Let me know as soon as possible:)

  7. I definitely love the Cole Haan booties. I'm going to consider those for myself as well! The Nine Wests are definitely returns… the MK ones are nice, but if they don't fit perfectly then it's not worth all the money! I think the Cole Haans are a winner! 🙂

  8. i'm drawn to the second one for some reason. i think it makes your legs look longer because it's a shallower cut. the first ones are cool but a bad fit is a no-no. good luck on the shoe hunt, girl! i feel ya

  9. Such a shame about the Michael Kors booties! They are my favs but the Cole Haan are perfect – would love a beige or tan version too. Btw, your hair looks AMAZING!

  10. Annie, thanks for the pictures. I am in the market for a pair of booties too…I like brown but know that black is more practical. I especially like the Nine West Azzurro Booties and will look into it, thanks again! 🙂

  11. Keep the Cole Haans! My friend has a pair, and I borrow them every chance I get because they're so comfortable/adorable. And the silhouette is so great for petites, because it has a lower dip in the front. I do have to say that I adore those MK ones too, though – so sad that they're too big!

  12. i actually really love the MK Adena booties! the front dip makes it so stylish as well as leg lengthening! maybe some really low-profile socks with it (i've seen some socks that wrap around just the feet and can be worn with flats)? it's too bad the Nine West ones didn't work out — i really like the shape of those!

    cute & little

  13. Of all of the, i like the Cole Hann the best. I like the length and Cole Haan shoes are always so comfy! The front of the MK is pretty sexy I think =)

  14. Keep the Cole Haan booties!! I have the leather version of the same shoe — it is the most versatile and comfortable shoe I own. Love it! And now I think I may order them in suede 😉

  15. Cole Haans look great, but you're right they aren't exactly a bootie. I say return because even if it's a good price for Cole Haan, $149 is expensive for something you aren't looking for. It's tough finding the balance between not cutting off the leg and not looking elfish. I thought Stuart Weitzman on Zappos had some good options (goes down to sz 4!) but is really pricey. Worth drooling over though I'd say.

On a somewhat related note, have you ever tried J Crew's Mona pump? They are also pricey but they're similarly shaped to the AT pumps and run small. Loved this review:

  16. Thanks for the review of booties. Do you think the Nine West booties would go well with pants? I am looking yo replace my work boots and I mainly wear pants. Are they comfortable?

  17. My favorite bootie look has to be the Michael Kors!….too bad the fit is so off 🙁

  18. I think the Cole Haans fit you best but the Michael Kors shooties are the sexiest.
