I was so excited about this yellow ruffle blouse that I had to wear it immediately. I quickly slimmed the sides by 1″ and although it may be hard to tell by these photos, it really did make a huge difference. It was so insanely hot yesterday and I was sweating profusely so I didn’t do the best job tucking in this shirt. I promise you it looks better in real life:)

I love that this blouse has short sleeves and can see me layering it with a cardigan/blazer to spruce up some Fall/Winter outfits that need a pop of color. The color is a more of a chartreuse yellow and not neon as it may appear in the pics.

It was so nice to have a long weekend – much needed. It gave me a chance to catch up on some organizing and do a little bit of sewing. It seems like there is never enough time to do anything these days. I am having a difficult time keeping up with my favorite blogs and commenting so I apologize to all my fellow fashionistas.  I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend : )

What are your thoughts on this yellow top?

  1. Annie you look amazing in this outfit. The colors are great on you and both pieces are very flattering. I have to admit I sometimes there are pieces I’m not crazy about but these are winners!! I’ve been checking out your blog on and off for a while now and I had an idea for a post you should do if you have time. I’ve been going through my closet as I am tempted by more new fall pieces, and have been asking myself, which are things in here that have really endured over time in my closet, the things I keep wearing year after year…. And then WHY…. Its not always the wardrobe “classics” for one thing, I think I’ve gone through a bazillion black skirts and white button downs, although sometimes its a classic pencil skirt in a bold color, or the cardi that fits just right, or the crazy print wrap dress that looks fresh each spring. I have a just above the knee camel colored leather skirt from BR over ten years old that still looks divine each year….anyway THOSE are the only kinds of pieces I am interested in adding or investing in anymore, and wondering what they are for you. Would make a great read to see what you’ve been loving for 3, 5, or 7 years!

    • Hi there! Thanks for your feedback- really appreciate it! And great idea…I never even thought about those items that have never made it to the donate pile because they are just those great pieces that I love year after year. I’m now going to look in my closet and see which items those are. Thanks for the suggestion- will def post this! 🙂

  3. I love the color. It looks real nice on you. I agree with you that there are just not enough time to do anything theses days. =) I also took this weekend to do some sewing. My pile of clothes-that-need-to-be-hemmed has shrunken down to half.

  6. Lovely outfit Annie! The color compliments your complexion and I love how this is a good basis for a fall ready outfit.

Random question but do you favor your AT pumps over the CLs?
