Tee: J.Crew – size XXS (this years version)
Skirt: H&M {hemmed}- size 2 (similar here)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin – size 35 (similar here)
Bracelet: Vintage
This skirt is so much fun! I was afraid it would be too pouffy to wear but I think post alterations, it’s perfect. See how it looked before alterations here. For you ladies that are similar in height (5′ tall), I took it up 4″ and it hits me right above my knees. I think this is perfect length for this type of skirt on me. I could have gone 1″ longer but it didn’t lay as nicely. I do have to warn you, it is a very full skirt. I didn’t think I could pull it off but after tailoring it, I am totally in love. It’s such a nice change from my ordinary pencil skirts. I can definitely see this as a wardrobe favorite.
I ordered this Banana Republic cabochon necklace during the 40% off sale recently and absolutely adore it. It’s the perfect size for a statement necklace and the coral and pearls will be great for Spring/Summer. I also got the navy and turquoise version but couldn’t decide which to keep. I figured since I used my BR rewards towards my purchase, I might as well keep both.
I’m so glad I didn’t have to mess with the waist. H&M skirts in size 2 usually fit me pretty well. I initially thought I would have to remove some of the extra fabric/gathering around the waist because there was so much of it but I think it’s fine for now. Plus I have no clue how to do that myself so it’s going to have to work 🙂
What are your thoughts on this skirt post alterations?
i think this is probably my favorite outfit on you so far! but i’m partial to flared skirts so i’m biased, hehe. i agree that it is a nice change from pencil skirts since flared skirts add more playfulness/youthfulness.

Wow Annie! I’m just speechless. This outfit is so fun and feminine. You look so amazing here and I’m sure this won’t be the last we see of this skirt on your blog. Great job on the hemming too!
I passed on the BR cabochon necklace but I think it deserves a second chance after seeing it on you. I honestly have grabby hands for everything in this post. 🙂
Hehehehehe awwwww Jess! Your response/comment is so sweet! You are too kind to me! I am so relieved the skirt turned out – you know how much I wanted it to work:) It took several hours to hand sew a blind hem but totally worth it.
Yes please check out the necklace again! It’s super pretty and not too big. Lol re: grabby hands…..:D
Oh! And the back of the skirt looks so much better after taking up the hem! It was super bunchy before but somehow it worked out! Yay!
I am super obsessed with this skirt. It is just so me. You look great esp on pastel colors.

Hi Jen! YAY! It’s been so nice in LA that I am already ready for Spring 🙂
very sweet & romantic look! I like that the skirt has pockets. Too bad I can’t work with flared/full skirts…I feel like I’m wearing an umbrella around my waist. =]
