Ever since I found my striped Dress Barn maxi skirt, I’ve been keeping my mind open to maxi dresses. They are so comfortable and very different than what I normally wear on the weekends. I’ve tried on so many lately but nothing has fit or met any of my criteria. I’m sure many petite ladies out there share my same frustration.
Most of the maxi dresses out there have racer backs, low cut fronts or straps that are so thin – your bra peeks out. The majority of them are so long, I’d have to cut off several inches. I wanted something simple, with no slits on the sides, front or back. I didn’t want it to flare too much on the bottom and wanted something that wouldn’t overwhelm my petite frame.
I found this at Marshalls recently in the junior’s section for only $14.99. Score! Size XS fits me perfectly (see fitting room pic here). I love the navy and white stripes. I was hoping to get a maxi dress that wasn’t striped since I have my striped maxi skirt but for $14.99, can you really blame me?
This dress is simple and met all of my requirements. I thought it would be hard to walk in with no slits but I wore it out and was able to walk comfortably.
I scored this Coach Willis leather bag a couple weeks ago on CoachFactory.com for 70% off! The total ended up being $89 for this cognac beauty. You can wear it as a crossbody (adjustable strap) or hand held. It’s a nice size and I can fit way more stuff in compared to my vintage Coach crossbody. It reminds me of my very first Coach Willis bag (regret selling years ago) I bought as a teenager but I prefer the updated rounded bottom.
What are your thoughts on this maxi dress and Coach bag?
