Review: Anthropologie Nevicata Dress, Danita Sheath and Ann Taylor Navy Ankle Pants, Lane Striped Silk Shirt, Colorblock Ruched Wrap Top

Anthropologie Petite Nevicata Dress
Anthropologie Nevicata Dress – size 00P

Likes: I love the navy eyelash lace and couldn’t resist ordering to see how it would fit. It reminds me of my burgundy lace dress from ASOS (see here). The overall fit is decent but not perfect. It could be a bit more fitted in the waist area but not too bad. The length hits right at the knees and is perfect for someone my height. I love that it doesn’t have an exposed zipper and the neckline is work appropriate.
Dislikes: The price tag of $128 is very hefty.  I find this to be true with most Anthro items unless you get it on major clearance.
Verdict: Probably returning
Anthropologie Petite Danita Sheath
Anthropologie Danita Sheath – size 00P

Likes: Adore the colorblock and contrast trim. It’s completely different than anything I own and the fit is just right. It skims and hugs your body without being too tight.  Love all the colors – so pretty and feminine.  I can see it paired with some blush pumps and my blush YSL handbag.
Dislikes: The price tag of $178 is crazy. I’m still trying to justify keeping it at this price.  The only downside is the exposed zipper in the back. This along with the price is holding me back from keeping it.
Verdict: Want to keep but can’t justify the price
Ann Taylor Petite Navy Ankle Pants - Striped Silk Blouse
Navy Lane Striped Shirt – size 00P

Likes: I love the colorblocked white collar and cuffs – it reminds me of Hubby’s work shirts. Lol I like the fact that the stripes are navy and not black – much less harsh.
Dislikes: The sleeves are just slightly long and the shirt is wide. It will definitely require slimming.  It’s a classic shirt that may be worth the trouble.
Verdict: Undecided – worth tailoring?
Pintucked Ankle Pants – size 00P

I’ve been on the hunt for some navy work pants and were hoping these would work out. The fit and length are just right but I’m not loving the material or the back seams.  Many readers have suggested the BBanana Republic Sloan ankle pants which I plan on buying soon.

Ann Taylor Petite Colorblock Navy Crossover Top
Colorblock ruched wrap top – size XXSP
Belt: Kate Spade – size small
Skirt: Ann Taylor {old} – size 00P {slimmed}

I got this top during the 60% off flash sale for $14 and wore it to work the other day.  It’s super comfortable but I will have to sew a snap button to keep the front part closed.
I also got this seamed ponte dress in two colors and was hoping they would work out but it runs huge.  I’m also still debating on this floral modal scoop tee I got for $8.
Which items do you think I should keep and return?

  1. You have to keep the Danita sheath from Anthro, it looks AMAZING!!! I might have to pick it up 🙂

  2. I love the first dress but it is a bit big on you. On sale, you should do it- so pretty! And that second Anthro dress is INCREDIBLE! Sorry but you need it!!!;)

  3. I love the lace dress but agree, it would have to be tailored for a better fit at the waist. Although the downside of that is you already invested in such a hefty price tag. If it were cheaper, I would keep and tailor or. (Or keep an eye on when it goes on clearance! I think there’s a website or app that tracks prices and emails you updates 🙂
Although knowing me I probably would not get around to getting it tailored! 🙁
The other item I love is the shirt. It is RARE that I find a button down shirt so appealing. The colors and the contrast with the cuffs/collar is striking! And although it does remind of mens work shirts (my hubby wears video game tshirts to work, lol!) it is incredibly feminine somehow! Don’t like the pants, agree with you!

  4. I love the Anthropologie dress, although I agree it is pricey and too big on you(could get it altered)…but if you don’t LOVE it…I’d just say return….I LOVE the color-blocked wrap top , it’s gorgeous tucked in and that belt…to die for! I love everything about your style!

    xoxo,

  5. Would love to purchase the Danita dress from you, if you decide to send it back. It is sold out online. Always love your fashion reviews for petites!! You have saved me lots of returns.

  6. I absolutely LOVE the Danita sheath on you, it’s really flattering and unique! I also think the navy striped shirt is worth tailoring, it seems like it would be a classic staple to have in your closet. But I’m not feeling the pintucked ankle pants. I’m curious to see what you think of the Sloan pants– I just ordered them and they should be arriving in the mail tomorrow– fingers crossed that the 00P works out! I always have issues shopping for petite pants lol. Cheers 🙂

  7. I agree with all other comments.. It’s Danita sheath all the way! I admit that the pricing is a little too steep but you look incredible in it.. Love the Ann Taylor wrap top with the bow detail..very chic!

  8. I love the Danita dress, but I understand that you are not keen on the price…:-/ Otherwise, I would definitely keep it!:)

  9. Keep the Danita dress! It looks astonishing like it was tailored specifically for you. And the price is worth it for something that good.

  10. I love the Danita Anthro dress on you so much! It’s absolutely gorgeous, it’s my all time favorite dress on you and I don’t think it requires any justification. I think you would regret it if you return it and seeing these larger pictures really makes me want to order them to try too but I don’t know what size(s) to get… plus all of the sizes are practically sold out! *tear*

Your outfit with the wrap top is another one of my favorite outfits because it looks so comfy but chic paired with the neutral skirt and simple bow belt.
