Fitting Room Reviews: H&M, Banana Republic, J.Crew and WHBM

WHBM Sleeveless Dot Print Sundress
I was so excited to see that they brought back this polka dot dress in a pretty gray color. See my taupe version from last year here. Since they don’t have petites in store, I’m trying on a 00 (same size as my taupe). It feels like the cut is slightly smaller than last year but it’s still loose in the chest, shoulders and back. The length is the same – hitting at the knees. According to the SA at the store, she said this is available in petites but I couldn’t find it online. I love everything about this dress and it has pockets! Would definitely recommend.

I passed on both but the skirt is cute and size 2 fits me well.

I didn’t care for this dress but thought I’d share in case anyone likes it.

It’s really hard for me to say no to anything that has polka dots. The color is a dark navy and is from the “office wear” section. Size 2 fits me perfectly and is fully lined. Would recommend.
H&M Yellow Wrap Dress
H&M Yellow Wrap Dress – size 2
This is a brand new dress and I couldn’t find it online to link to. I love the color and the way the dress drapes but unfortunately, the material is very thin and slightly see through in the back. You will most definitely have to wear a slip and nude undergarments. I passed.
J.Crew Cove Floral Dress
J.Crew Cove Floral Surf Dress – size 00 (buy here)

When I felt the material, I had to try it on. It’s made of neoprene and was inspired by a wet suit. Since this is regular sizing, there are some fit issues. There’s puckering near the arm holes and the shoulders/chest/back are loose. The waist and length are decent on someone my size. I like the floral print but it didn’t do it for me. Passed.
Banana Republic Green Strapless Dress
Banana Republic Green Strapless Dress – size 00P (buy here)

The color is gorgeous in real life and the material is thick. Size 00P fits me perfectly off the rack. Usually strapless dresses tend to slip but this one seem to stay in place. The only thing I didn’t care for was the front pleating, it makes it look like shorts instead of a dress. Passed.

Menbur Polkadot Bow Slingback Pumps
Menbur pumps – size 5 (buy here)

I was super excited to get these but was so disappointed when they arrived. Polkadots and a bow? It’s a no brainer right? Unfortunately the ankle part is huge! It doesn’t even sit on my ankles at all- just hangs there loosely. The quality wasn’t that great for the price either. Returned.

  1. I love your fitting room posts! I saw most of those items at H&M last week. Happy to hear your opinion!

  2. I liked the butterfly sleeve blouse on you! I noticed that the pleats of the one you tried on is different from the one you linked to. Too bad that wrap dress was see through. I see why you didn’t get it now. πŸ™ I searched for the petites version of the WHBM dress too but you’re right. It’s nowhere to be found on their website. huh

  3. Aww, too bad the polka dot heels didn’t work out, since they are so adorable and your style too! Of all the items you tried on, I like the first grey and white polka dress the most!

  4. Piece of writing writing is also a excitement, if you be familiar with
after that you can write otherwise it is complex to write.

  5. There’s certainly a great deal to know about this subject.
I love all the points you made.

  6. An outstanding share! I’ve just forwarded this onto a co-worker who has been doing
a little homework on this. And he actually ordered me lunch because I
stumbled upon it for him… lol. So allow me to reword this….
Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending the time to discuss this topic here on your site.
