I knew the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale was going to be good this year but I had NO idea it would be THIS good! I would have had these reviews up sooner but I’ve been so exhausted after coming back from Minnesota.  Unpacking, catching up on laundry, emails and getting the house organized has taken all of my time.  Here are my first batch of goodies!  I didn’t expect to love so many items….grrr not good for the pocketbook!  I’m going to split these reviews up into different posts because there are way too many items to sift through.  Okay so here we go!

Draped utility jacket // Ankle booties // Jeans // Striped shirt

DRAPE UTILITY JACKET

Likes: Utility jackets are one of my favorite Fall go-to pieces.  I love everything about this jacket.  The color is just the right shade and the draping is perfection. I like how simple the style is – no zippers or weird details.  Just two chest pockets and two front patch pockets and no front closure.  Super comfortable and easy to throw on.  I can see this looking super cute belted with a skirt for a dressier look. You can also add a leopard scarf and cognac boots like this outfit HERE or HERE.

Dislikes:  The sleeves are a long and slightly wide.  I have them rolled and scrunched up.  I’m willing to look past this and plan on having Nordstrom tailor it for me.

Sizing:  As soon as I saw this in the Nordstrom catalog, I knew it was going to be one of my favorite pieces.  Unfortunately when I went to add it to my cart, XXSP was already sold out!  I was so bummed and settled for XSP.  It says sizing runs on the larger side but I think sizing runs true to size.

Price: Sale $44.90, after sale $69

Verdict: Love, keeping and would recommend!

 VINCE CAMUTO FEINA BOOTIE

Likes: These are VERY similar to my favorite Vince Camuto Franell western booties from last season.  If you remember, I wore them almost everyday and loved them so much!  I love ankle booties with a v-cut at the top.  This small detail helps elongate shorter legs and looks so cute with jeans and leggings for Fall.  The khaki suede color is nice and neutral.  It’ll be super easy to wear with almost any outfit.  The heel height is low enough at 3 1/4″ to wear all day and be comfortable. Based on walking around the house, these seem extremely comfortable (and my feet are very picky).

Dislikes:  The 4″ shaft height compared to the Franell’s at 3.5″ were a bit iffy but these still work for petites!  If these didn’t have the v-cut, I don’t think they would work out.  I thought the circumference on the top would be  too wide but they aren’t too bad.

Sizing:  Sizing runs true to size.  I took my normal size 5.

Halogen lace overlay shell // Steve Madden Gleemer thigh high boots // White jeans

HALOGEN LACE OVERLAY SHELL

Likes: I love this lace top so much!  You can wear it alone or layer it with a blazer or sweater.  I like how you it can be dressed up for work or worn casually with jeans.

Dislikes: Couldn’t find anything I didn’t like!

Sizing: Sizing runs true to size.  I’m wearing XXSP. It fits very comfortably. Length is perfect and arm holes are small but not tight.  You can wear this top with dress pants for work or casually with jeans.

Price: Sale $44.90, after sale $68

Verdict: Love and would recommend!  I also got the matching pencil skirt which I’ll review during next round!

STEVE MADDEN GLEEMER THIGH HIGH BOOTS

Likes: I was very skeptical about these but wanted to try them out.  I was unsure about the faux suede material but it’s pretty nice quality considering they are a fraction of the highly coveted and extremely expensive Stuart Weitzman highland boots.  The corset back lace up closure is super cute and allows you to tighten the thigh area for a perfect fit. I like how it doesn’t come untied like my Highland boots.  The price is an insane deal!

Dislikes: I wish the heel was 1/2″ shorter but other than that, not much to complain about.

Sizing: I was curious whether or not they would be petite friendly and I’m happy to report they fit! The shaft height measures 22″ which is the right length if you’re looking for a true over the knee or thigh high boots.  I’m always afraid the shaft will be too tall but these are perfect for petites.

Price: Sale $99.90, after sale $149.95

Verdict: Love, keeping and would recommend!  Comes in two colors and I bought the taupe suede – will review during the next post.

Victoriana lace tank // Halogen cashmere drape cardigan // Skinny jeans

VICTORIANA LACE TANK

Likes: This lace tank is so pretty!  I’m a sucker for lace tops and this one caught my eye immediately.  I love the vintage and jewel neck tank style.  It has a banded waist for a more blousy silhouette.  I can see this worn with a pencil skirt and a cute cardigan for work or casually with jeans and sandals for the weekend.

Dislikes: Nothing!

Sizing: Sizing runs small.  I’m wearing XXS and it fits me perfectly.  This brand (Chelsea28) tends to run smaller than other brands which is great for petites.  You can size up if you want more of a looser fit.

Price: Sale $45.90, after sale $69

Verdict: Love and would recommend!

 HALOGEN CASHMERE DRAPE CARDIGAN

Likes: I love drape cardigans for Fall.  It’s like wearing a soft and cozy blanket.  They’re easy to wear and very comfortable.  The draping on this cardigan falls perfectly and doesn’t look bulky.  Love that it comes in regular and petite sizes and also available in several colors.  This is 100% cashmere and is very nice quality.  I’m wearing heather camel and can see this being on heavy rotation next season.

Dislikes: Price tag is steep even at the current sale price however it’s 100% cashmere and incredibly soft.  Caring for cashmere is a pain and dry clean only.

Sizing: Sizing runs true to size.  I’m wearing XXSP and it fits really nicely.  Sleeves are narrow but I still have to cuff them up which I don’t mind.

Price: Sale $149, after sale $229

Verdict: Love, keeping and would recommend!

Cynthia Steffe Jada Collared Shift Dress

Likes: I remember trying this dress on last year when I was pregnant but it didn’t work out for me.  This is a great work dress, conservative but still stylish.  I love the scallop overlay, peter pan collar and faux cuff sleeves.  I was shocked when the sleeve length fit me – this rarely happens!

Dislikes: Dry clean only.  Boo!  I don’t like dry cleaning my clothes unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Sizing: Sizing runs true to size. I’m wearing 0P and it fits well however there isn’t much shape to the dress since it’s a shift style.

Price: Sale $98.90, after sale $148

Verdict: Love and would recommend!

Lace Applique Crewneck Sweater // Halogen Noble over the knee boots

LACE APPLIQUE CREWNECK SWEATER

Likes: Obviously I love the color and polka dots. The material is super soft and comfortable.  You can wear this casually or with a cute pencil skirt and pumps for work.

Dislikes: Hand wash and lay flat to dry.

Sizing: Sizing runs true to size. I’m wearing XXSP.  Halogen is one of my favorite brands at Nordstrom and their petite sizing never fails.

Price: Sale $44.90, after sale $68

Verdict: Love and would recommend!

HALOGEN NOBLE OVER THE KNEE BOOTS

Likes: I was really excited when I saw these because I have several Halogen boots and they have all been extremely comfortable.  These boots come in black, grey and burgundy.  I’m wearing the grey color.  It doesn’t photograph well but in person, they are amazing!

Dislikes: No complaints.

Sizing: Sizing runs true to size and I took my normal size 5.  The shaft height is 22.5″ and perfect for petite frames.  It doesn’t go too far up your thigh.  The calf circumference runs narrow (14″) so this is great news for gals with thinner calves.  There’s a partial side zip and inset elastic goring.  They are VERY easy to put on and take off (no wiggling or doing a funny dance needed lol).

Price: Sale $109.90, after sale $189.95 (this is a GREAT DEAL for 100% suede boots)

Verdict: Love and would recommend!

You can see everything I bought HERE.  On another note, I wanted to share these sandals I just bought.  They are the most comfortable shoes EVER and they happen to be on sale!  I wore them immediately for a full day and they didn’t hurt my feet at all.
