Sleep. What does that even feel like? I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in almost 2 years. I know…how am I even functioning right now? I honestly have no idea (lol). I had insomnia while I was pregnant and now that my little angel Milan is here, I’m up all night nursing her. I don’t mind the extra cuddles because pretty soon I’ll be missing them however lack of sleep has taken a major toll on my skin, especially my face. As a busy new Mom, I’m constantly on the go. I literally don’t have any time during the day. Between meetings, blogging and juggling motherhood, I need to look my best and don’t always have the time to get ready. I’ve been looking for ways to get that refreshing, dewy look without too much shine or glitter. Most importantly, I want to look natural and not overdone.
Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Fix™ Highlighting Stick
Recently, I started experimenting with Revlon’s PhotoReady Insta-Fix™ Highlighting Stick and let’s just say, I’m one happy Mama! What does highlighting your face mean? Just think of it as bringing out your best features for that professionally re-touched look. It’s a lit from within, luminous look. I love how lightweight and smooth the formula is. It just glides on my skin and the convenient stick makes precise application very simple.
Application
It’s SO EASY to apply! You can choose to do one swipe for a subtle look or build for a more dramatic “strobed” look. You’ll want to first start your face off with some type of primer or BB Cream and then begin your highlighter application. I usually start highlighting the apples of my cheeks. Take the highlighter stick and start at the highest point of your cheekbone and swipe upwards towards your temple. Next, I’ll dab some on my eyebrow bone. This will instantly brighten up your eyes! Then, I’ll put some on my cupid’s bow and occasionally use it on my collarbone depending on what type of outfit I have on. Lastly, I’ll end with a one swipe down the bridge of my nose for a subtle highlight. That’s it! It’s that simple yet makes a world of difference.
Choose the shade for your undertone
Pink light – a pink shade with light silver pearls (optimal for light to medium skin tones)
Gold light – a peachy shade with golden pearls (optimal for medium to deep skin tones)
Revlon offers this in two different shades. I’m using Gold Light right now since my skin tends to a be a bit darker during the Summer/early Fall but I plan on using Pink Light for the Winter months. This is perfect for highlighting virtually any skin tone.
The makeup stick allows for a perfectly precise application – even on the go. When I’m in a rush, I can apply this while I’m in the car or in-between meetings with just a couple of swipes. This is a lifesaver especially during photo shoots where my makeup can get a little crazy.
