Mustard Cravings

I am going through some color fazes lately. Recently it’s been blues/greens and orange. Now I am on to mustard! Thanks to R.L for tweeting and letting me know that J.Crew has updated their lady day coat to the lady day metro coat. (see me in last year’s version). I about fell out of my chair when I saw this mustard color. They made the coat longer so not sure how that will work or compare to last year’s version but I am absolutely in love with the mustard color.  I am also coveting the double serge skirt in spicy gold. The 00P is still too big but I may be willing to pay for alterations because I need this skirt in my life! I am also eying the jazzy purple color– so vibrant and gorgeous!
I still am into cardigans and this mustard cardigan is on sale. I am waiting for additional discounts but definitely must have this. It’s the perfect shade and length I have been looking for. XXS fits really nicely and runs very small (this is based on my other J.Crew cardigans).
I love this mustard perfect fit flower tank. It looks really narrow and petite friendly and would look amazing underneath a blazer or cardigan. It sort of reminds me of the famous AT petal shell.
This belt isn’t a true mustard but I’ve been looking for this color yellow for awhile now. Must get this!!!
Anyone else craving this color?

  1. Really lovely! I always, always have to shorten my coats so it's not a big deal for me. I love the clean lines of the coat and skirt. Purple is another colour I feel is pretty special.

  2. I like the flower tank but not sure about the length and flap pockets of the coat. The flap pockets shouldn't be a problem for you, but it would be for someone with wider hips (me). You seem to look good in all colors. I tend to go for shades of pink, blue, purple, and greys along with coral, burgundy, and teal. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I'm also eying the updated Lady Day coat. So lovely!! And I love mustard too, especially for the fall season!

  4. im always in love with mustard and have been on the search for the perfect mustard pencil skirt for a while now. the shade of the coat looks perfect on my monitor, if it looks like that irl i think im sold!

  5. I have not got a single clothing that's mustard colour, though I really would love a few! ^_^ I really like the skirt. 😛 It's such a nice shape and length.

  6. Gorgeous color! Pairing this color with purple would be gorgeous. Or blue! Oh! Now you have me wanting mustard colors! It seems so versatile!

  7. I love your choice of colors. I was going to comment how I love both colors of J. Crew skirts on your sidebar but always forgot. Gorgeous. I am hoping they will have sale because I am not sure I want to pay $120 per skirt. That cost looks great too.

  8. The flowers on the tank are actually reminiscent of chest hair… I tried it on in store. I'm feeling mustard obsessed too!

  9. Love it, I'm so happy this color is making a comeback. I inherited a lovely mustard color pleated skirt that my mother wore in the 60s, I can't wait to wear it. Please give us suggestions on what to wear with a mustard skirt.

  10. I had this old mustard turtle neck sweater that I got from Forever21 and I used to be obsessed with it lol. It made me feel like I'm back in the 70's or something ha!

I love colors on you, so I'm looking forward to see mustard in your future outfits.

To answer your question, you can stay using neutral eye makeup, but try musing darker liner on the upper lash line 🙂

  11. I like the skirt…I definitely need to add more coloured bottoms to my closet. The coat is lovely too! Can't wait to see what you'll end up getting 🙂
