Purse: YSL (buy in other colors)
It’s finally cool enough to start wearing tights but I heard we are getting another heat wave again (eeks). These dark gray H&M divided tights are by far my favorite pair of tights. It costs $7.95 for a pair of 2 and they last me forever. They They stopped making the dark gray color so these are my very last pair:( They still carry black and I have noticed a slight difference in the ones that used to be made in Italy vs. Turkey. I have several Italy pairs (from 2 years ago) and they seem to last the longest and fit the best. The ones made in Turkey (this year) are just slightly looser (I wear XS) and the material is a bit different. Maybe I just got a bad set? I love the 40 denier (thanks for the clarification Cher) because it’s not completely opaque. The higher the denier count, the more opaque the tights are. I just ordered some 60 denier navy blue and gray tights from Forever 21 so I will keep you posted on the difference.
If anyone spots these dark gray tights again at H&M, please let me know. I always like to buy back up pairs of tights. I practically live in tights during the Fall/Winter so it’s nice to have some extra pairs in case of snags.

So far, my favorite tights are Falke. Really smooth and good quality. I haven’t been willing to cough up the dough for some Wolford though. (And actually, the full word is “denier” ;))
LOL thanks Cher! I’ve heard that Wolford is the best but being that tights snag easily, I can’t justify spending that much on them. I will look into Falke:)
I think only poor quality tights tend to snag easily. I’d have to try and do some serious damage to my Falke to rip into them, I think. They are so much better and more comfortable than my Hue tights, that’s for sure. I’m not sure I would invest into Wolford mostly because I don’t wear tights that often, but if I did, I probably would consider it. So far, the Falke has served me well. I have a 50 denier, but it’s still a bit too opaque. I might consider a 30-35 in the future.

My friend started a new company called VienneMilano. Her company sells luxury thigh highs that are made in italy. They have a pair of gray thigh highs (150 denier) that I bought a couple months ago…and I really like them. They’re the Olivia style. They’re warm, soft, and very comfortable. I haven’t had them for the winter yet, but for the fall so far, these have suited me quite well. I’m not sure if they have a similar gray pair that is less than the 150 denier…but you can browse if you want. I also have the Claudia in black (50 denier), and I like those as well. I haven’t tried any of the others.

Oh, sorry I just realized that you wanted something that wasn’t as opaque…the ones I have from VienneMilano are opaque. You don’t have to post this. There are pairs that range from 8 denier to 150….I just don’t know if there are gray ones. You can look it you want! 🙂

Last year I splurged on Wolford tights for a work function and while they felt divine (oh so silky) on I was disappointed by the splotchy pigmentation. I must have gotten a bad pair and I was too lazy to return them to the store.
I’d love to know what the other ladies recommend so I’ll check back and read through the comments later. hehe

Those gray tights look very nice on you! If you like tights made in Italy, I would highly suggest taking a look at Trasparenze and Oroblu! I also love the brands from Spain, Cecilia de Rafael and Platino! I can get a nice pair of plain pantyhose/tights from them for 10-20 dollars and they are made in Europe, look wonderful, feel great and are comfortable to wear!
