I love finding simple, wrinkle free dresses to wear to work. If they have sleeves, it’s always a bonus because then I don’t have to add a cardigan or blazer. This dress is perfect for those days when I don’t know what to wear or can’t see straight in the morning.  See my review here

I love the fit of this dress and the material drapes nicely. The hips are wider than usual but still doable. I’ve had really good luck with J.Crew petite dresses and would highly recommend them. If you are patient, you can score some great deals when they go on clearance. And now for some quick reviews:

Loft Scalloped Shift Dress
Loft Scalloped Colorblock Shift Dress – size 00P

This dress is cute but I didn’t get that excited over it after trying it on. It didn’t really do anything for my figure and I doubt I’ll get a lot of wear out of it.  It fits decent as far as a shift style goes but wasn’t that flattering on me. Probably will be returning.

Loft Scalloped Skirt in berry and black

I also got my scalloped hem skirts in black and berry but unfortunately they run big. I’d have to take in the waist and not sure if I’m willing to do that (still debating). The length is nice and work appropriate but I was bummed it didn’t fit. I’ll try to post pics on Instagram this week.

Banana Republic Jacquard Fit and Flare Dress
Banana Republic Leopard Jacquard Fit and Flare Dress – size 00P

I love the fit of this dress but unfortunately decided to pass. It’s currently on sale for $79 in stores.

Talbots Rope Stripe Petite Trench Coat
Talbots Rope Stripe Trench Coat – size PP
Talbots Rope Stripe Petite Trench Coat 2

Talbots petite sizing tends to run big but I saw this beauty hanging and thought, that looks like it could fit! Low and behold, I fell in love with it. Navy and stripes? I knew I was in trouble. The sleeves are long and will need to be taken up. It seems to fit slightly better than my Banana Republic classic trench. Do I really need another trench? No. Passed for now but may be tempted if it goes on clearance.

Top: Marshalls (similar HERE)

Measurements: shoulder to shoulder 14″, armpit to armpit 16″, sleeves 20″, total length 31″

This Kate Spade Franny Coat has been on my wish list and finally decided to splurge. Needless to say as soon as it arrived and I tried it on, I was in love. You know that giddy feeling you get when you find something you love? That’s how I knew it was a keeper. The fit is boxy (supposed to be) but overall, it looks and feels great. There’s enough room on top to wear layers if needed and the best part – the sleeves fit! They’re supposed to be 3/4″ sleeves but on me, they are full length. When you pop the collar, it has red lining (such a great detail) and there’s a big bow in the back too.  I’ll have better pics once I do an outfit post. The coat is pricey even with the sale but with no costly alterations, I’m okay with it. It’s a classic coat that I will enjoy for years.  See the checkered version on Vicky. If you need an XXS, the only store that carries this size is KateSpade.com (buy here). It’s still full price and they will not price match other stores (already asked for you).
Gap Striped Flats coach shoulder bag Jcrew schoolboy camel blazer

Blazer: J.Crew
Shoes: Gap printed pointy flats – size 5
I took my new Gap printed pointy flats out for a spin today and I’m happy to report – they are pretty comfortable. I ordered the polka dot version as well during the 40% off promo but wanted to make sure they were comfortable enough to keep both pairs. I like how the top doesn’t show too much toe cleavage. I wish they were leather instead of canvas but still would recommend them.

Thanks again for recommending the dot ruffled shell from LOFT. It’s my new favorite top and I know it’s going to get a lot of wear this spring/summer.
