Today we are taking a mini break form the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (click HERE to shop the sale) so I can share this adorable striped bardot dress with you!  Don’t you love when you find a dress that’s comfortable, affordable and fits with no alterations?

It’s easy for new Mommy’s to stop taking care of ourselves because you devote 200% of your time to the tiny, precious little human that you created.  Sometimes you forget that you’re just as important as your baby.  A happy and healthy mother equals a happy and healthy baby.  Of course it’s much easier for us to stay in yoga pants (nothing wrong with this) and not comb our hair because who has time to get ready?

Spare time is almost non-existent these days and every minute counts.  The last thing I’m worried about is how I look but it is important to feel human and normal sometimes.  I’m not telling you to get dolled up every single day however it’s amazing what a cute outfit and a little makeup can do to a woman’s self esteem.  Am I right?  I know not everyone reading this can relate so let’s get back to this adorable dress!

TOPSHOP STRIPED BARDOT DRESS

The material is 100% cotton and seriously the most comfortable dress EVER.  I love that it’s on trend with the whole “off the shoulder” look yet still looks very classy.  Sizing runs VERY small so if you are unsure, size up!  I’m wearing size US 2 which is comparable to a US 0.  It fits me perfectly and is petite friendly!  I was afraid the length was going to be too short but it hits me right above the knees.  Topshop sizes can very very tricky and typically run much smaller than other brands.

I wanted to point out that the buttons in the front are non-functional.  If you are currently breast feeding, this is very easy to nurse in!  The best part about this dress is that it’s very slimming.  It hugs you in the right places and hides the belly.  Yes, please and thank you. lol

WEAR NOW, WEAR LATER

Let’s take a moment and talk about these sandals shall we?  They are my new favorite and incredibly comfortable.  Don’t let the 4″ stacked heel scare you.  I’m telling you, these are so easy to walk in and don’t pinch or hurt your feet at all.  They will easily transition right in to Fall which is a huge bonus!  I couldn’t believe how perfectly they matched my Vince Camuto Abril bag which I scored from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale recently.

My favorite part about this dress are the shoulder straps.  I find that a lot of “off the shoulder” dresses sometimes never stay in place.  It looks fine if you’re standing like a statue but if I’m running around doing stuff, I constantly have to adjust and pull it up.  This dress stays in place and you don’t ever have to worry about it falling down.  Here are some other dresses I’m loving (just ordered THIS ONE):

As if I need to say this again but Nordstrom is THE PLACE TO SHOP.  My all time favorite store, hands down, no question about it.  I never have to worry about shipping because you get free shipping (no minimum) and free returns all the time.  They most definitely have the best customer service I’ve ever experienced and have the most flexible return policy.

CURB SIDE PICK UP

Did you know they offer curb side pick up?  If you order an item to be picked up in store, they will bring it out to you!  You don’t even have to get out of the car!  How amazing is that? I’ve been using this service lately and LOVE it – saves so much time especially when I have Milan in the car!
