I just ordered the perfect patent pumps in city taupe and facade gray. These are the only AT pumps that will fit me! After discounts, total is $82.50 – not bad for comfortable work pumps.  I also ordered the exotic embossed leather block heels in oxblood and in spotted haircalf to see how the fit is.

I couldn’t wait to share this amazing deal with you ladies! I found this crinkle city mini yesterday for only $17.49.  See here for fitting room pic.  There was no tag on the navy skirt and usually I am too lazy to ask the SA to do a price check but I decided to do it this time. Thank goodness I did because it rang up much cheaper than the other colors that were available.

I noticed that the crinkle city mini fits very similar to the wool bell skirt from two years ago.  It runs smaller than the regular wool city mini.  I bought two of the wool city mini’s last year and they were huge. I’m not sure if they have since changed their sizing but I held the crinkle skirt up to the wool one in store and it was noticeably smaller.

The only downside to this skirt is it doesn’t have pockets 🙁  I’ve been loving the color navy and it’s such a great change from basic black.  These elastic waist skirts are so easy to wear and extremely comfortable.  I’ll be definitely wearing these with tights and boots when the weather gets cooler.  I loved it so much that I ended up getting the red color as well.  Unlike my wool bell skirts, both of these can be worn in every season which makes it even better!

I got this jacquard popover blouse during the J.Crew 25% off sale and thought about returning it but then but then changed my mind.  I already have the ivory version (see here) and was unsure about the naples blue color After trying it on with my skirt, I loved it enough to keep it.

The shirt doesn’t fit perfectly by any means.  I am going to try shrinking it in the dryer and if that doesn’t work, I will attempt to slim the sides.  This navy belt was a major score back when I visited my family in the midwest earlier this year. I got it for only $9.99.  I absolutely love Ann Taylor belts- they are well made and the XS usually fit or require only 1 extra hole to be punched.

I never would have thought houndstooth and polka dots would be able to mix well together but they do.  A couple of years ago, there was no way I would have been brave enough to mix any type of prints much less than add a burnt orange handbag to an outfit like this.
How do you mix prints together?

  1. I don’t mix prints. LOL. I always look like I got dressed in the dark. I admit that I will do it once in a blue moon, and when I do I make sure that there is at least one color in common or are from the same color family in both (all?) the pieces so it looks “cohesive”. Mixing the same kinds of prints also tends to work successfully (ex. polka dots with polka dots, stripes with stripes). The blouse with the bell skirt is very cute!

  2. Cute outfit Annie! I just checked and the city mini is sold out online so hopefully I find it in stores. I really love it paired with your navy patent pumps (I thought they were CL at first). Glad you kept the blue color of the blouse. I hope you find different ways to wear it (it’ll look cute with a white blazer in the spring/summer).

    • Thanks Jess! Just to confirm – you are looking for the navy and not both the navy and red right? The reason why I ask is because there was one red in 00 left at the store I was at- let me know:)

  3. I love your pattern. A few years ago, no one was doing it. Now everyone is doing it wonderfully. I love how fashion is so free these days and you really can’t go wrong! Tks for the AT pumps and JCrew sale tips!

  4. Loving the polka dots! The houndstooth blazer works great together. I would have never considered those two prints to be a match either. I’ve done stripes and polka dots before.

  5. The shirt looks cute but I guess it’s really kinda too wide (good luck with shrinking it!) that it causes quite a bit of bunching up on your jacket sleeves.

Your shoes collection are gorgeous too but I do notice they all seem a tad too big for you, or at least that’s the impression I get from the photos 🙂

  6. I wanted to thank you for this good read!! I absolutely loved every bit of it.
I’ve got you saved as a favorite to check out new things you post…
